Silly question, but can pregnant women eat lean cuisine meals?
I'm having a problem getting in balanced meals at lunch. Prior to pregnancy, I ate these smart ones or lean cuisine or something like that. This feels like an odd question with an obvious answer, but I'm just wondering. . . thanks!

I ate them for lunch often when I was pg with my last child. I made sure they were lower in sodium though. I think it was a great option for me to help keep my caloric intake in check and get a balanced meal. I really think they helped me keep my weight gain to 30lbs this time as opposed the 50lbs I gained with my first daughter. I ate anything and everything that time. :(
Just be sure that you are not eating them for every meal, watch the sodium, and be sure you are meeting your daily minimum for calories.

There's nothing at all wrong with Lean Cuisine for a meal sometimes, depending on what else she eats during the day. There's certainly worse things, like most fast foods. It's much healthier for a pregnant woman to eat small amounts more frequently throughout the day than to eat 3 larger meals. It also depends on how far along she is. The recommended weight gain is between 25-35 pounds. Maybe less, for a small person. (But more is almost never a good thing). Most of the weight gain should be in the last trimester, not the first. I'm sure her doctor or midwife will advise her to increase her caloric intake if she needs to.

If you are worried about just 'getting a balance meal' then you can go ahead and eat your 'Lean Cuisine' meals ... but ONLY AT LUNCH. You'll need to take in a bit MORE FAT than you normally would since you are pregnant, but that can be 'really easy' if you just 'butter your toast' in the morning for breakfast ... and eat a 'healthy normal dinner' every night.
There's a 'trick' to eating 'balanced meals' ... you should NEVER do it ONE MEAL AT A TIME, or even 'one day at a time' ... if your 'whole week's food' is 'balanced' then you'll be 'just fine.' And learn to 'listen to your body' for your 'cravings' ... that will tell you if your body 'really needs' something you aren't getting, and when you are pregnant it's IMPORTANT to 'listen to those cravings' and even 'tell your doctor' about them, because they could indicate that you 'need more' of a particular nutrient 'for the baby' ...

Yes you can eat Lean Cuisine meals while pregnant. They are lower in calories though which you need an extra 500 a day until you wean the baby. So perhaps find other calories you can take in while eating your lean cuisines.

Yes, you can eat a lean cuisine. Now that you are pregnant, you will need more calories (from healthy foods) than you used to, so be sure to eat healthy snacks at work as well. Fruit and vegetables or whole grains are the best snacks.

Yes, I think that they are fine, but be careful of the sodium. Those types of meals tend to have a lot of sodium and if your body is going to be sensitive to salt, then you may have to stop eating them. When I was about 6 months along, I started experiencing a lot of swelling my legs and ankles. My body was very sensitive to the salt. It didn't get better until I had my baby.

Yep! They're healthy and well balanced. Add some fruit and veggies to round out the meal and keep you full.

Yes, of course. Maybe eat more than one of them at a time because the calories in them are not that much and as a pregnant woman you need more calories.
