Do people of faith slam atheists?
Why is it that atheists have a problem with people of faith? It is like an obsession or rebellion.

I don't slam Atheists.
The only thing I am concerned about is why they bother answering questions about the bible or scripture.
If someone had questions about Atheism, I could understand.
I know very little about Atheism, so I wonder if its just a fad with some because some think it means "god haters". Atheist means you don't feel one way or another about beliefs in god/gods.
I know nothing about soccer or salt water fish tanks, but I don't post an answer that it basically meaningless to the asker. It seems silly to go over to the soccer people and post a goofy comment about baseball or tiddlywinks being a better sport.
Some of questions about God are silly, juvenile and asked by 10 year old minds who love potty jokes.
I was a philosophy major in college, so proving points and making statements were conducted on a much higher plane than here, which is "just YA".
So I take it all in stride. I answer those with sincere questions with sincere answers.
Goofy people get whats coming to them.

Hello Terrie, I am an atheist, and I have no problems with people who have faith in their various gods.
I like to discuss religions, and various beliefs and disbeliefs. It may be an obsession, but I think of it as a hobby.
I do not consider it a rebellion at all. One cannot rebel against a non-existent deity.

It seems your question is the other way around. Why do we have a problem with faith.
Blind faith can be a dangerous thing. Faith can and frequently does lead to fanaticism. When people confuse faith with truth, they can justify there position for any action.
Where do you think Islamic terrorists come from? The literal interpretation of jihad is a "good deed". Not killing in the name of Allah.
There are christian faiths that are reaching that level of fanaticism, and masking it in church doctrine. Some Christians think we are fighting a holy war in the middle east, where does it end?
So yes I have a problem if faith.

Well, obviously it's because of the bad behavior of "people of faith".
Obsession? Rebellion? Please.
That "oh, we're so innocent" routine doesn't do anything but remind us that you're not very honest.
Look, the believers here generally are shameless liars, know nothing about religion, and apparently only come here to insult other people. This is a supposed to be a question-and-answer forum about religion. If you people can't behave yourselves, you should just go away.

I've noticed that many Christians slam anything that threatens their faith. I've noticed that atheists have a problem with religion because they see it's harmful effects in the world. Notice that most reasonable atheists don't deny the existence of a possible god, they just don't believe in that possible existence, because they have been shown absolutely no empirical evidence.
Anyone who says that religion isn't harmful is in complete denial.

It goes both ways. I respect people of all faiths, and people of no faith. But there is sadly much intolerance from both sides. I've seen it on here plenty.

There is no need to slam atheists.
I am not obsessed with homosexuals. I have worked with some, but I didn't like it when they watched me walk down the hall.

A true person of faith does not slam anyone, people must not intervene in what others believe in whether they have faith or not. It is not our place to judge others unless they are physically harming others.

Because what a person of faith believes is confrontational to an atheist. That's how the gospel was made.

Speaking as someone who lives in the buckle of the 'Bible Belt' I assure you that Atheists are not only slammed verbally I actually had to defend myself from a Christian because I don't buy into your religion.
When you try to convert people what you are doing is trying to get them to adopt your philosophy of life.........what we are doing is telling you that we have a philosophy that not only makes more sense but is all around healthier for you.
