What's the Pentagon going to do when it runs out of oil?

The Pentagon is running out of oil/gasoline supplies...

The Department of Defense is the largest single energy consumer in the country...in World War II, the United States consumed about a gallon of fuel per soldier per day...the US operations in Iraq and Afghanistan burned about 16 gallons of fuel per soldier on average per day...of all the cargo the military transports, more than half consists of fuel. About 80 percent of all material transported on the battlefield is fuel (not counting batteries)...the United States spends an average of $44 billion per year safeguarding oil supplies in the Persian Gulf...

Update:

Comment to "a_bush_family_member", Canada supplies 16.3% of US oil imports. (Source - US Energy Information Administration)

Update 2:

It's not so much who has the oil and how much there is, but rather how much the Pentagon uses (in dollars and oil) trying to stabilize the Persian Gulf region, and how much it's dependent on oil (much more so than in the past). This is enough of a worry for them that they've researched it and published the results.

Canada is the largest supplier of foreign oil for the U.S., and it is not going to run out anytime in the next 100 years.

It is now known that Canada has the largest oil reserves in the world.

When we "totally" run out of oil...I hope we have some alternative fuel source by then because then the whole of America is going to be totally screwed because the oil companies will be REALLY gouging us by then. As if they aren't already.
