Do you spend $14,000 per week?

Question

The government does for combat ops in Iraq.  According to the pres, run-rate of $2BB PER WEEK in Iraq.  At roughly 140k troops thats 14,000 per soldier per week.  The numbers are mind boggling.   We have already spent over $422 billion in Iraq so far--  almost 1/2 a TRILLION dollars.  For what?   

So, what could we HAVE spend that money on which would have been more worthwhile.

22 years of service , what do you think the government spent just on little ole me , with training , food , medical care , transfer of duty assignments , the schools i went too , uniforms , etc etc , my guess in the tens of million of dollars

Wow.  I know I didn't get a tenth of that in my pay, housing and food when I was deployed.  It would be interesting to see what the numbers are for GTMO, because there is no way what we were provided with was worth more than 500 dollars per soldier per week, including our pay.  And GTMO is supposed to be better than Iraq.

Lets see: food, water, medical facilities and medications, bandages, antibiotics, all kinds of medical  equipement, tents, guns, ammunition, , uniforms, telephones, electricity, tanks,  trucks, cars, gas for said vehicles, buildings to use, computers, airplanes, airplane fuel, .... I could go on but why.

Not to say any of this is more worthwhile but it is where all the money goes.

That's not that bad actually.

My 28 week training, that I don't even use anymore, cost the Army 2mil total. (19 weeks AIT, 9 weeks BCT)
