when we got married,i was never depended on him for any expenses,now i'm not working for the last 6 mths,i had to ask him for household expenses and he would keep telling me how much he spent.and he wants me to pay him back the credit card bills i incurred,i signed to buy my necessities cos i didn't have cash.being a woman,you know,we do need our monthly supplies.

didn't you discuss this BEFORE you got married? It's not that it is a right, it's that in a healthy marriage, those things are not private and personal.......I suggest you start saving the money he gives you in your own account held in your mother's name or sister's name until you have enough to get the hell out

no, that's not right. i think you should know where things stand financially. do you also have your own private bank account? are you both working outside of the home or are you at home with kids?
if you don't have your own account, i would make sure to get one.
a friend of mine had a similar situation. when she filed for divorce, she got half of what was in that "private" bank account. hmmm....

First off what is he doing with his own account? If you're married you should have a joint account, and yes it is your right to be involved with the finances. If your husband fails to open a joint account or doesn't want to share his info than get out........who knows what else he is hiding from you.
