Community Guideline violations?

Like many others, I have received a "points off" notice for a violation which, for the life of me, I can't find in the guidelines. As an example, I referred one questioner to my profile to get an answer I had previously give to someone else. This earned me a slap on the wrist. What's the violation? Yahoo invites a response if I think the penalty was in error, but has yet to respond to my question about it. Anyone have a clue?

Update:

Is it possible someone is masquerading as Yahoo?

Can you provide a link to the answer and question that you're talking about?

UPDATE: Thanks for sending the answer via e-mail. I think you had a word and a phrase in the answer that may have either offended someone or could have easily been misinterpreted by someone - thus reported as abuse.

It's so weird how this is abuse system is working out. I guess they'd rather have you lean toward paranoia and be extra careful with wording than the opposite - an interesting censorship tactic. Or maybe the system just needs some tweaking and some people have to suffer until it's fixed.

Either way, I'm sorry this happened and I encourage you to continue helping people who come to Yahoo! Answers.

    Hi John,

I cannot for the life of me, figure out where your true violation lies. I see nothing wrong with how you handled your answer.

It seems that the TRUE violators, post time and time again, without punishment from Yahoo Q&A.

Since numerous people give links to themselves, I can only surmise that someone was jittery about the link.

However, the flood of bogus, specious and unsupportive violation reports is reaching epidemic levels

It`s bound to happen unless your politically correct with every answer , or if you don`t answer the question satisfactorily.

Source(s): They closed my previous account I had for years with only one warning.
