Tidepooling near San Diego?
I'll be in San Diego in mid-May and am looking for good places to go tidepooling. Any suggestions?

Well....take the 101 highway and go to cardiff and encinitas near swami's and you will be sure to find tide pools. check when low and high tides are so that you get the most out of your trip. the la jolla cliffs have some pretty cool pools butt they are sometimes hard to get to. have fun.

La Jolla Shores is the best place to go tidepooling. It's amazing over there! Just make sure to check when high and low tide is.

Cabrillo is a great place to stop, you can see the light house, and check out the beautiful tide pools. Shell Beach in La Jolla is okay, there is also the Birch Aquarium to get more info from a docent on what spots are hot right now. My kids love that place to see the baby seahorses nursery.

Head up the 101 to Swami's; it's between Cardiff and Encinitas. Take the flight of stairs down to the beach and then walk north 200 meters. It's the best 'accessible' place to take kids.

La Jolla Coves. I believe south of La Jolla Shores.
Best time...early morning when the tide is low. Oh so beautiful.
