Some religions believe we can pray a relative into heaven. Is this possible? Is this a lie?

No, it is not possible and yes, it is a lie. Each and everyone of us according to the Bible have sinned (Romans 3:23). That sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2). For us to go to Heaven that sin has to be dealt with. The Bible says that the penalty for sin is death (Romans 6:23) and not just physical death but eternal spiritual death in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:11-15) That is why the Lord Jesus Christ chose to come to earth and take on the form of flesh. He came to die, to suffer our punishment for us so we would not have to. (2 Corinthians 5:21) He never sinned but He allowed sinful man to beat Him, and nail Him to the cross for our sin. He shed His blood to wash away our sin. (1 John 1:7) He suffered Hell on the cross and died in our place. For three days He was buried then the third day, because He is God in the Flesh, because the price He paid was accepted and because plain and simple death couldn't hold Him, Jesus arose from the dead in victory (Luke 22-24) . He now offers each of us the free gift of salvation (Hebrews 7:25). We have only now in this life to decide to either receive His gift or reject it. If we reject Jesus as our Saviour, there is no other hope for us in this life or eternity. Once a person dies that is it. They will either go immediately to Hell if they are not saved (that is trusting Jesus alone as Saviour) or they will go to Heaven to be with Jesus if they have been saved, but wherever they are is where they will be. The Bible says 2 Corinthians 6:2b, "now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." None of us are guaranteed tomorrow. If a person hasn't made sure of their future now is the time to do it.

Ro 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Re 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. 2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 1Jo 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. I have studied the Bible thoroughly and suggest that everyone read and understand the following things from the Bible:
only a few are "bought from the earth";
God's original purpose for mankind, which He made from the dust of the earth, was to have everlasting life in Eden/Paradise on earth. He will restore that original purpose, and the few who were "bought from the earth" will rule with Christ over that "new earth".

21 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more. 2 I saw also the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

i do not equate it to being terrified of demise, there is merely area of the human mind which will consistently worry the unknown. This existence on earth is the in hassle-free words project we've ever favourite, or maybe if we do trust and believe in eternity in Heaven it remains some thing we haven't experienced yet. jointly, we pray for ourselves or kinfolk contributors that are ill no longer because we doubt eternal existence in Heaven, yet because we are able to nevertheless omit them and be unhappy that they at the on the spot aren't any more with us in the experience that they die. i understand my grandfather is in Heaven with the Lord immediately, yet that would not propose i do not omit him ordinary and desire he became nevertheless with us.

1) It would seem unfair if one person got into heaven simply because he or she knew someone who was willing to pray him or her into heaven and another was barred from heaven because he or she didn't.
2) If God refuses to force us to accept salvation, how could other people do so?

Ecclesiastes 9:5 "5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. "
There is nothing you can do for the dead person. its dead, and he goes nowhere !

God tells us not to pray for the dead.... so we can't. This is why we must make the decision.

yea its a lie, only God chooses who goes to heaven and who goes to hell, but you can pray for that relative, to ask God to forgive his/her sins and stuff
