What do you think of the name Jacoby (for a boy)?
I've heard it as a last name before - but never a first name. Do you think it sounds like an African American name??
Also - suggestions for a middle name would be appreciated. Our last name is Wayman.
...pronounced ja-coby
not jacob-ie

I have only known one person name Jacobi (spelled with an i). She was a girl, and she happened to be African-American. However when I looked up the meaning of the name, it was a boys name from Hebrew origin that means "supplanter". Jacoby with a y is male. Jacobi with an i was female. They both had the same meaning. I imagine the name was derived from Jacob. I think it is nice name and Jacoby Seth Wayman sounds nice together. Good luck deciding.

I've heard it before, but as a surname, rather than a first name. It's not horrible, but not great either. It would go with your surname. No, I don't think it "sounds" African American, whatever that's supposed to sound like.

Jacoby sounds weird but Jacob is ok. I think a cute name would be Zack or Zachery. Good luck!
