i have a cig burn on my marble sink , does any one know how to remove it?

Try some toothpaste (which is a lot like rubbing compound) and a soft cloth. If your marble has a high polish on it, you don't want to abrade it with steel wool or sandpaper because getting the polish BACK is next to impossible.

I would NEVER invite the person who thoughtlessly did that BACK... EVER AGAIN.
Besides that, marble is very porous so the burn probably got into the pores. You may try using straight bleach on it and see if that helps and some of the kitchen/bath rust removers may take it out too... but be careful... you could damage the marble.

Purchase some fine steel wool from a hardware or Home Center. (not the soap pads) lightly rub the burn. Polish after mark is removed.
