4 RAM may have the numbers however the 2 RAM could beat them with experience. It's up to the leadership to be frank. 4 injured RAM could never defeat 2 healthy RAM.

A DIMM is a dual in-line memory module, or a RAM chip in layman's terms. If your PC have four slots for your memory you can put upto 4 DIMMs in your PC. Dependin on your computer's ability, you can put as much RAM as possible. If you only get 2 DIMMs, you could get less memory unless you buy those of higher capacity. (e.g. 2 1GB DIMMs would be more than 4 256 MB DIMMS). It is usually good to have an even number of DIMMs.

For the average user, 2GB of RAM is plenty even on a machine running Windows Vista. I am an IT professional and I often have many many applications open simultaneously, and 2GB is plenty for me.

If you are doing serious image editing or video editing all day every day, then you might need to go to 4GB or more of RAM, but it's likely that there are other system bottlenecks that would come into play. On the other hand, if that's what you do all day, then you probably know the tools to help diagnose and tune system performance.

It all depends on how much ram your mobo can handle but I think you are talking about slots on the mobo sometimes there are 2 or 3 or 4. The difference being if there were 2 slots, your mobo can only handle 2 gigs. Now my mobo has 4 slots and can handle only 2 gigs. Depends on manufacturer or the price you want to pay.

Increasing RAM eliminates your computer having to use virtual memory (your hard disk) as much, resulting in faster performance. It will speed up virtually everything and enable the computer to keep up as it ages. Today's Ram provides the best performance for the least cost. Enjoy that new computer. Get the 4 Gigs.

Well, you can get two with 512MB of ram each and have over 1GB of ram or get 4 with 256 MB of ram each and have the same thing so it doesn't make too much of a difference unless you get two 1GB rams which will give you too much ram and I don't think you really need it for a home based PC.

4 rams or 2 ram well i rather 2 ram with HIGHEST Gigabytes ( GB) which mean they right now have 2 GB so if u want 4 then the motherboard will not allow the over max the memory .. they are invidual set the memory feed to motherboard...

    1) Your question is bit confusing. In a PC/Laptop there are slots available (2 slots or 4 slots) for fitting RAM. Each RAM bar varies from 64mb to 4GB. So, if you have 2 slots on your pc you can fit 2x64mb or 2x128mb or ... 2x4GB.

    2) Conclusion, more slots and more memory DIMM in each slot you get higher speeds of working.

windows xp maxes out at 2Gb of ram. Vista can handle up to 4Gbs. get as much as you can afford as ram = speed. there are two types of ram you should be concerned about. DDR and DDR2. DDR is older and slower then DDR2. if this is a new machine, it will need DDR2. one that is two or more years old will take DDR. get a free copy of cpu-z and run it on your computer. it will tell you what you have now. just get the same type.
