Help! My hair's falling out!?
I have a healthy, balanced diet; I'm not bulemic. I naturally have very volumous, thick, strong hair, and I've NEVER had problems with it falling out before.
But now, whenever I try to shampoo my hair, I run my hands through it and multiple strands (not clumps of hair, just single strands very frequently) easily pull out into my fingers. I can't even brush my hair! It's not tangled, it's just... weak, I guess. What should I do?
I've never dyed my hair before. I dry my hair about once every three days, and I hardly ever straighten or curl my hair.
However, I do usually take 2 showers a day, and I shampoo and condition my hair every time--do you think washing/cleaning it so often is better or worse for the hair-falling-out problem? I know some people only wash there hair once every other day or so...
Thanks for your answers so far!!

If it is not coming out form the scalp your doing okay if it is breaking mid-way throughout your hair is more and likely dry and needs some hydrating and moisturizing. Other probable causes could be change in hormonal balance, stress, any kind of shocking new, daily shedding is normal, try wet sets and texture hair styles less heat You didn't mentioned any colors or chemicals that could be a small factor to try changing to a new shampoo and conditioner most of all good-luck!

It's normal to lose 100 strands of hair a day. If you start to notice bald spots on your head, that's when you should be worried. I have think hair as well and after shampooing I loose quite a few hair everyday, but it's normal.

If you are healthy, then your hair is in bad shape. You need lots of conditioning. A healthy scalp promotes healthy growth.
If not then, you need to take extra TLC with your hair by keeping it well conditioned and pay more attention to keeping the scalp moisturized

my hair was and is doing the same. but 50 strands is normal to fall out a day.more than that you should be concerned. i started using this product called nioxin for hair loss. it has helped. and also these vitamins that are supposed to "make your hair grow faster" they are called hair formula 37. but i havent noticed my hair grow any faster. i have noticed it thicker and much healthier. if you are constantly dying your hair, blow drying it and straightning it, than that could be the reason for your hair loss and breakage. happened to me=(
