Bolt Code Letters?

Does anyone know the meaning of codes BLP, BGT, BJR, etc., on the heads of bolts. There are numerous letter sets like these, but the bolt heads all look alike. They are hex heads about 1-1/4" across, the code letters are raised. I can only see the heads, so they also could be lag screws. They are in a building here, used to fasten cladding.

    some of these are the casting plant code that made the bolt. Some markings (numbers, or hash marks) indicate grade 5 and grade 8. Grade 2 usually has no marking and are most common you see in stores. Lags are grade 2. Other markings for metric and sae, uss,bsp... The list goes on.

    In retail stores thoes letters are used as an alternative to upc's
