I have an employee that is constantly complaining to my boss, no matter what I do I can't please her.. Help?
I am an assistant manager and part of my duties is to be the human resource person. We hired this girl to work our 3rd shift and she says she does 130% of her job. I didn't hire her my boss did when I was not working that day. However when the boss comes in he is complaining that his wife found cob webs, dust and other problems in the lobby. I've written notes to her explaining what needed to be corrected and she writes a note to my boss saying I was in the wrong. He is tired of this childish behavior and now my job, I've held 10 years, is on the line because of 6 month employee who favorite words are either "I wasn't told, I wasn't trained properly, or my boyfriend told me to do it this way."
Yes, this story does get better. But what I really would like to know how should I handle this person. She doesn't do the job she is told to do, never on time, and causing constant problems. I've written her up twice now and she told my boss I was wrong yet again.

talk to your boss about her performance and suggest you do an performance evaluation. ts not right that people pass the buck on you, regardless of her not being trained properly or whatever her excuse is people need to take responsibility for her actions. she has been there for 6 months. she should come forward and ask to be retrained if she felt she wasn't trained properly. i think its time she gets fired bc it obviously isn't working out, shes creating conflict, not owning up to her mistakes or making any efforts to rectify the situation. bring up theses points, suggest a performance evaluation, all new hires under a year a subject to that randomly. see what he says. good luck!

Document everything, even taking pictures if needed. Document training and when you told her what was expected of her in her position. Then discuss this in detail with your boss, and see what can be done. Personally, I think if you've done that, she could be fired if she still doesn't perform the job properly. You'll have to see what your boss says.

Your boss sounds extra like an egomaniac on a vigor shuttle. ie...asserts her authority at each and every risk regardless of who will get harm, although it approach stepping at the ft of her possess boss. Your choices... one million) Stay on the task and simply comply with her laws to the letter except she is anticipating you to do whatever unlawful. two) Get employed at a brand new task then positioned on your 2 week's become aware of. three) Quit and check out to turn out adverse office and harassment. Trying to turn out those could be very problematic and no longer more commonly positive,

i dont understand what you are saying. is this girl this bosses wife? tell him, i appreciate you seeking my opinion about your wife but please keep that to yourself because you are not his therepist. hes your boss and you are there to help him succeed by making him look better. ask this girl what is her job, as in duties and how is it done. if its wrong in your opinion say so only after you have some sort of agreement with her like ill push you up if you push me up after some general chit chat.

From now on, let her know everything (trainings, tasks, duties) by writing, if she mess up again, let her know in writing... eventually, fire her.
