It's real nice and and with a great price range. One bit of advice. It takes 4 alkaline AA batteries. Your dad should buy rechargeable batteries and a battery charger because theses cameras seriously go through batteries. Optional batteries are specified under accessories on the page.

Well above average. If I was being picky, the "professional" standard for number of pixels tends to be 10Mpixels, but 7M is absolutely fine for an amateur's camera. Pictures blow up to A4 size well on anything above 6Mpixels.

they are good cameras, easy to use and you will get fantastic photos with it. the only thing i would say is depending on if your dad is into photography he may want the option of being able to change lenses, you cant on this one. apart from that its a great gift.

Depends what you mean by good. I would like one as a present as it far exceeds the specification and quality of my two current cameras.

i noticed it says on the review ...suitable for beginners or 'FEMALES'!!! bit sexist intit. saying like females arent as good as males at using cameras...
