Are bulls naturally agressive towards humans?

For example, if you walked into their field would they charge at you? Or is this a misconception promoted by movies/cartoons and the Running of the Bulls and Bullfights?

Bulls are Territorial and protective over their heard of cows, and will attack humans, dogs, among other animals if provoked or if they feel the heard is being threatened.

Not all Bulls are aggressive. Such as those that are hand raised and have had a lot of human contact like the 4H Bulls , but even they are not to be fully trusted because of the Bulls natural instincts, you never know just what might set them off into a raging rampage. They are very fast and powerful and not an animal to be trifled with. They can hurt you very badly or even kill you. Most Farmers can handle their pasture Bulls with no problems , because the Bull knows the Farmer and they have a healthy respect for each other. As the saying goes you don't bite (or in this case butt) the hand that feeds you. In short Bulls are not an animal to mess with.

Young bulls (up to about 3 years of age) are not real aggressive, but as they get older, they are aggressive toward everything. If you walk out into a pasture where there is a bull, it may start walking straight toward you with it's head down and bellowing; and sometimes pawing the earth as it approaches.

Anyone who handles cattle has great respect for bulls. They can be very dangerous.

Here are a couple examples I know of personally:

My sister was trying to herd a bull to a certain place with an ATV. It attacked her and the ATV and tipped it over. Luckily, she escaped.

A neighbor had 2 bulls. They were threatening to fight with each other. He jumped the fence and tried to chase each in a different direction. They both attacked him and he only escaped because someone was close enough to pull him under the fence after they rammed and very seriously injured him.

Another neighbor had a bull across the fence where I walked on my own land. Every time the bull saw me, it would start walking slowly, head down, bellowing and pawing toward me. I didn't wait to see what might happen if I tried to chat with it across the fence.

They are not protecting their "babies". They are keeping everything away from their cows.

Source(s): I grew up on a dairy farm and still live where there are a lot of bulls living on pasture with "their" cows. I don't mess with them

Bulls are not naturally aggresive towards humans. In bull fights the bulls are peovocted to become angry. The myth about redis a lie because the are colour blind. Bulls are teritorial creatures. When there area is entered thaey attack to keep it theirs. So as a final word on your question no bulls are not naturally agresive towards humans.

I would think they're not naturally aggressive against people. When you're in a bull fight, the bulls may be aggravated in order to charge, plus I believe the matador taunts the bull with his cape in order to get the bull to charge.

I'd probably guess that bulls wouldn't charge at you the second they saw you in their field as long as you kept your distance and didn't do anything to instigate them.

Bulls are not inherently aggressive towards humans. It is the human behavior that provokes their attacks, if any

One thing I know...don't be a menstruating female walking into their field. They will more than likely come after you...lol.

i believe if they feel threatened they will, or if they are protecting their offspring. or if you pissed them off. or if they are in heat.
