My disc drive makes an odd noise when I open or close the 'drawer', and does not work. What do I do?

It worked fine yesterday! After interrigating my children, I have discovered that while the drive was open, it was hit from the side "on accident". It doesn't appear visibly broken, but apparently it cannot load the info from the discs anymore. I put one in that worked fine yesterday, and all I get is a noise that is a sort of clicking-hum for a few seconds. The drawer does feel a little loose on the side it apparently got ran into with a knee.

Is there anything I personally can do, or will it need professional care?
