'Cos apparently we ain't allowed to put up St George's Cross anymore in case we insult all these 'minorities' - but they aren't really minorities 'cos there's just as many of them as there are proper English people!

I would love to be able to celebrate St Georges day and become a proud country again. Just the way the Irish do!
But unfortunately we are not allowed to because we have enough bank holidays and and other celebrations in the year - and we wouldn't want to offend anyone - would we?
Even though St George is the Saint of England that doesn't seem to matter any more.

I think it's because unlike us Irish who couldn't care less what people think of us and never turn down a party whether there's a reason or not, you British are reserved and afraid to enjoy yourselves just in case some other race laughs at you, the Americans are fast heading down the same route but for different reasons. It's time to lighten up and grow a party hat.

You can celebrate it if you want. I will just point out that it is an English day not Britain as some parts of the British Isles have there own Patron Saints.

I think it should be a public holiday and be celebrated..being our patron saint..I am in Italy and we have a national holiday here. What is the point of flying the flag the red cross when we don't even celebrate it....oh well...
I only see the red cross in a football match!! or on my first aid kit..byeee

Its nothing to do with being British, its about being English.
Since you cant fly a St Georges flag in England without offending somebody, I cant see it happening any time soon.

Apparently its racist or some bo**ocks like that....Off the point but funny thing is I lived in Australia for a while and they have a national holiday for the queens birthday. Was loving that one. We dont celebrate that in her own bloody country. Ha!
