Why does the media keep Al Qaida's websites secret?

Most news sources frequently report an "islamic militant website" as claiming such-and-such about the goings-on in Iraq, but I haven't seen any links anywhere for such a website.

Propoganda. The government probably want to control the information that we see, in order to keep the US citizens in sync. We are good, they are evil. That is their message, but I'm sure the other side is thinking the other way around. It's all about information.

The websites aren't kept secret, well, I'm not telling you to do this, but you can easily find them, and they are generally all in Arabic or Farsi. But the media never gives out the names of websites for anything, be it puppies or islamofascists. And why advertise for the enemy. Also, you probably wouldn't want to see any of the stuff on there anyway, beheadings, bombs, etc. If you go on them the F.B.I. may take an interest in you and rightfully so. Also is the fact that the websites generally move from server to server or are taken down repeatedly. They are all terrorist indoctrination sites, and reputable hosters will take them down if they find them.

Islamic websites come on and offline. There are a few permanent ones, but they are hosted by remote servers.

Secondly, they don't exactly "broadcast" their URL. So if you try to look up a website for Islamic militants, you're not going to find an exact one--not if you don't know where to look.

They most likely don't know it. Do you really think the media would keep the mouth shut about anything they knew?

If you spoke and read Arabic, you would readily find these sites. Chances are, you don't even have the Arab alphabet installed so it wouldn't matter.

They don't want us to freak out and they don't want us to see that the government is lying!
