  • Is a 12 Inch TV enough for a college dorm?

My roommate says he is bringing a 12 inch TV, but this seems rather small to me, I mean my laptop screen is bigger. Is 19 inches alot better? The room is 13x14.

  • Yard/Town Liberty for Plebe: USNA?

I'm a friend of a plebe at USNA, and from my understanding I am not authorized, with just casebycase exceptions by commanding officer, to drive him anywhere. Are these exceptions fairly easy to get? I have a perfect driving record myself. Would just the yard be enough? I mean i want to give him a change of scenery....any other quality tips to help brighten his days down there?

  • Treadmill band is off-center, fixable?

The huge rubber band (for lack of a better word) that you run on and rotates when you are on the treadmill has gone off center on mine, so the whole treadmill sort of shakes and squeaks and just doesn't function as it should. Does anyone have any tips to get it back in line, or is the treadmill shot?

  • Question for the faith without works crowd.?

Basically protestants. How do you think the bible can be interpreted by you without the magasterial authority of the roman catholic church in light of this biblical passage.

    2 Peter 1:20-21

know this first of all, that there is no prophecy of scripture that is a matter of personal interpretation, for no prophecy ever came through human will, but rather humans being moved by the holy spirit spoke under the influence of God.

  • Which outrages you more?

Some mormon fundie men marrying in loving relationships underage girls and getting them pregnant and taking care of them....

    or

Some typical school kids having babies at young ages, often leading to abortions, financial distress, and/or dad jumping ship like a rat.

Due to media coverage, I would have to say the mormon fundies outrage the average joe more than the second scenario. But from a societal perspective, only the second places a burden on us. The fundies are brainwashed in their own way, and they are happy as a result of it. The second scenario are too brainwashed by media, advertising etc. and clog up welfare systems among other government services. Is the first one really so bad?

For the record I agree with neither, just an objective perspective.

  • XBOX 360 Question - Downloadable content?

So a while back my 360 needed to be sent back to microsoft for some repairs. Now pre-send back I had a bunch of downloads for Oblivion that I could play on both profiles. Now, they only play on one. Is there any way to get them all working again with my other profile? I have a memory card thing if that helps. Thank you,

  • Abortion- in cases of rape, incest, etc.?

Ok, alot of pro-life en generale people often waver in cases of rape, incest, etc. Consider this scenario. You are a cop(, and go to the scene of a bank robbery. The robber shoots at you, but you shoot the innocent bystander on the street and then arrest the robber. How would that make sense? This is the same issue with abortion in these extraordinarly rare situations. The baby is ultimately innocent, being punished for a crime he didn't commit. Isn't this like saying its a baby most of the time, except when my opinion says otherwise?

  • Christians and atheists: thoughts on this article?

    http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/12/10/colorado.shooting...

Its about the lady who stopped the Colorado missionary shooter,, here are the important parts.

"I give the credit to God. And I say that very humbly. God was with me and the whole time I was behind cover -- this has got to be God, because of the firepower that [the gunman] had vs. what I had," Assam said.

"I did not run away and I didn't think for a minute to run away, I just knew that I was given the assignment to end this before it got too much worse. I just prayed for the Holy Spirit to guide me."

"I was weak, and where I was weak, God made me strong," she said. "He filled me and he guided me and protected me and many other people. And I'm honored that God chose me."

So atheists, is this woman just delusional, or has she just fallen back on her prior police training?

Christians, can the all-merciful God really basically order the death of one of his sons like this?

  • Why are dentists always male and their assistants always female?

I've been to three offices, and know of at least 2 others, where this holds true. I'm sure there are exceptions, but why does this seem to be the rule?

  • Atheists, as far as causes go for life or the universe or whatever.?

How can there not be a one definite start point?

Nothing, our at least our concept of it, is impossible. If our concept of nothing existed then nothing could ever be made.

Infinite Causes, there is never a start point.

So there must be a start point, correct? This universe had to be created at a certain point, correct?
