Is a 12 Inch TV enough for a college dorm?

My roommate says he is bringing a 12 inch TV, but this seems rather small to me, I mean my laptop screen is bigger. Is 19 inches alot better? The room is 13x14.

12" is a bit small. Think about like really old CRT computer monitors. They used to be like 13-15". That's not a lot of real estate to be watching TV on. Plus, I don't know of any widescreen 12" sets, so you're likely talking about an old CRT TV here.

19-22" would be a reasonable. Think about a computer monitor. 19" is okay, but I think, even in a dorm room, you'd be better served at 22" (or 26" if you can afford it).

Look to Best Buy and their back to school sales. They should have some of the smaller sets on for some good prices. Also they will price match, so say check out Amazon too. If Amazon has it cheaper, get BB to match it.

    Right now at Best Buy,

    Toshiba 19AV600U 19" - on sale for $235

    LG 19LH2 19" - on sale for $240

    Samsung LN22B350 22" - on sale for $280

    Sony KDL-26L5000 26" - on sale for $438

When TVs were invented a family would crowd round a 9 inch screen and watch it in fuzzy black and white.

You do not say where you are but in the UK we can get all our TV on line so if you have a 19 inch lap top then all you need to do is put on head phones and watch TV on that.

-Jersey sheets -A collapsible, cushy chair -Backrest -Video tapes or blank DVDs, depending their TV-show recording device -Area rug -Desk lamp -Multiple surge protectors -A mini-fridge with a separate freezer area - the combination ones do not work as well. -Laundry hamper -A weeks-worth of towels and that many wash-cloths, plus one (greatly reduces laundry) -Laundry detergent -Lots of quarters, if laundry costs money there -Cups and/or mugs -Dish Soap -Plastic dish tub -Slippers -Lounge pants -Band aids -Small, general tool kit -Scotch tape -Posters -Rug vacuum (small!) -General medicines -White board -Daily planner with monthly calendar -Alarm clock That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but all things that I found very useful.

indeed,it's smaller when you guys in the dorm watch it.you can install a big size one when all watch it together sometimes.though everyone have a computer ,i think tv set is convenient when lying the bed leisurely.
