What does spaghetti mean in "Spaghetti Western"?

Update:

Ah ok thanks. I had just heard the good the bad and the ugly called that and it was made in italy so that makes sense.

    They were shot in Spain. The "American Westerns" were very popular in Italy during the late 60's and 70's. This was done for the Italian market by Italian directors,

    "The Good, the bad and the Ugly" for example.

    I'm hearing Rota,Spain for the filming.(can't prove it)

    Can you live with Italian director?
