Who thinks peter Jackson w/ the Lord of the rings should do a prequel not just the hobbit?

like star wars sorta he should do The Silmarillion and tell us about melkor and stuff the 1st age and how sauron became and about all the dragons and werewolves and vampires it would make loads of money thats for sure just like lewis' books of narnia

Update:

or whatever other director wants to do it i just said his name cuz he was the last director and thought he had the rights to it

Update 2:

wow some of u think the hobbit is the prequel it is for the rings but not the characters thats what the similliarion does it explains how all came about it explains why sauron made the ring how sauron became himself so i wish half of u would stop sayin the hobbit is the prequel cuz his other works explain much more about everything

TOTALLY! I am a HUGE Tolkien fan... I think Peter Jackson would do a lovely job... except I always wanted to head a Silmarilion project... I have some ideas to make it work for the cinema. They should make the Lair of Luthern and Beren into a movie first.

(Spelling is all wrong I know... I don't have the time to look it up... sorry)

It would be great if he could. But I do think he would do a wonderful job on the Hobbit which really is a prequel of the Lord of the Rings....it does tell how Billbo got the ring to begin with. I can't imagine anyone but Peter Jackson doing it as well. He did such a great job with LOTR....as well as all the people in New Zeland. Not to mention all the great sites in New Zeland....from the Shire, to Eduras, to the white halls of Minas Tirith. It was as if what JRR Tolkien had written had come to life.

The Silmarillion is something that I don't think could possibly be put to film. It's got too much going on within it. The Hobbit would be a worthwhile enterprise, and I think Jackson would be perfect for that. If he decided to focus on the time just prior to Isildur's epic battle, then that would be cool. To include it all would be too much, and the movie goers might not want to deal with the length or the complicated storyline.

"The Hobbit" is the prequel. Perhaps he could look to other J.R.R. Tolkien's works, but I would not like the idea of anyone riding Tolkien's coattails with a screenplay NOT based on his actual writing, and attaching it to "Lord of the Rings."

I would see any movie Peter Jackson made. I think he has too much integrity to try to rip off Tolkien.

No just focus on the Hobbit only and make it the best movie it can be!! He will loose his focus if he does something else!

I thought I heard someone else was doing "The Hobbit".

That would turn it into a horror movie.

If so, I expect some extra-strong language

    and demonism.
