How do you get the burned on yuck off the bottom of the iron?

    depending on your iron... If it has a teflon surface (it will be a dark brown or black) vinegar. If it has a metal surface steel wool .300 grit from any auto parts store will work fabulous without scratching the iron. Good Luck

    Faultless makes a product called Hot Iron Cleaner. It comes in little tubes, two to a pack. Follow the directions on the package, it works like magic. I've burned quite a few things onto my iron that it has removed.

    Heat iron, put salt on a flattened brown paper bag, rub the salt with the iron until all is removed.

    If it isn't a Teflon surface : this is what my mom always did...On a sheet of waxed paper pour a couple tablespoons of salt and rub the hot ion over it firmly. in a circular motion .it will remove the gunk.

    When all else fails and it's steel I use oven cleaner it's less work. Spray on, wait, wipe off. You could try stell wool to remove whatevers left.
