Are dead presidents still protected by secret service?

I was just wondering if presidents are protected where they are laid to rest? If so why? I know they protect family members and stuff, but do they protect after death.

2nd guy said it right. But you probably mean to protect from grave robbers right. I'm sure they are buried in a secure location where there are likly armed guards on patroll.

Their immediate family members are still protected. Gerald Ford's wife and kids probably are still protected.

It would not surprise me if a senior civil servant was put in charge of protecting grave yards - of decesed Presidents -

Of course he/she does this from his proch while siping wine but the servicemen makes 200,000 a year to do it

Protected from who or what? Nothing is going to kill them, torture information out of them, or give them some horrible disease.
