We believe that Jesus is our Lord and Savior and that He atoned and died for our sins, and was resurrected so that we too might be resurrected at the last day. We believe as the bible states that grace AND works are required. We are not saved by our works, we are forgiven of our short comings through grace. Grace is what makes up the difference that allows us to return to heaven. But grace without works is dead. James 2:14-26 is filled with this. verse 26 "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." also see Rev 2:23 ..." i will give unto every one of you according to your works." It's is not our works that save us. Grace is what saves us, but God also said basically if you show no works, if you can't prove yourself than the gift of Grace was wasted. James 2:17 "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." God wants proof that we believe and that we aren't just saying what is needed to be saved. If you are cold and someone says to you, " oh i can make you warm" but then offers nothing to make you warm, what good did it do? Him saying it didn't change the fact that you are still cold, and it made him a liar because he didn't back his words up with actions. It's the same thing for the Lord. We say we believe, but than do nothing to back up our belief, how much do we really believe? Gal 6:7 " Be not decieved; God is not mocked:for whatsoever a man soweth, he shall also reap."

I do believe that He died for my sins, and that we are saved ultimately by grace after all that we can do. We need grace because we all fall short of perfection. we still are commanded to be perfect as Christ is, which would require some works as well.

3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

2 Nephi 25:26 And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.
