Soap Opera- "Passions"?

I was folding laundry on my day off with the TV on for background- and I caught a couple seconds of a soap opera called "Passions". I am almost certain I saw two men involved in a sex scene! Is there a gay couple on this show? If so, that is a very cool thing to do on mainstream TV. They finally realized women love gay men!

Thanks in advance!

No, that's not cool. That was Chad and Vincent. See, Chad is married and carrying on behind his wife's back. Vincent is a slimy little weasel who hits women and blackmail's people. He tried to kill Chad's wife because she was going to tell his girlfriend he's a cheater.

Well, you and I both were caught off guard; however, they are not condidered a 'gay' couple. It seems that the young brother in the shorts is gay and the other is what is known as, On The Down-Low. That is to say, men who will have sex with men and do not consider themselves gay...they usually have a steady girlfriend or wife waiting somewhere.

I am facinated by the subject of 'gay' people. My neutral stance on what is right or wrong is not important; however, I am glad to see that the subject is being brought out on a soap, if for no reason other than to educate women-of-color that the possibility exist that the big muscelled man they consider theirs is also being shared with another (MAN).

It's true. Passions was a good show for that, and other reasons. However, it was one of the most unrealistic soap operas as well. Funny, but not even CLOSE to real life- witches, monkeys, etc. LOL It was a good mindless watch, but has been cancelled. So unless you have the Soap Opera package you're not going to see much more.

Here is the deal. There names are Vincent and Chad. Chad was having an affair with Vincent because his wife/fiance "couldn't give him what Vincent could." He is trying to break it off but he won't leave him alone. He thinks that it is wrong for 2 men to love each other.

Love Passions, and yes, they show gay love scenes! Unfortunatley, the show has been cancelled and will stop airing on NBC in September. Direct TV picked the show up though and you will be able to watch it if you have Direct Tv.

well, its a little more complicated than that.

its not really about gay men, its about 2 men involved with women that are actually seeing each other on the side. 1 of the guys is sort of blackmailing the other into staying by saying that he will tell the guys wife about their secret affair. the 1 guy has the 2 on video, but really they both want to be together, because you cant force someone to do what they dont want to do.

When soaps first began they were on radio and sponsored by soap companies and b/c the drama is similar to opera's...they so dubbed them soap opera's. They assumed women listened to them while doing the laundry!

Not sure about the T.V. bit, but most women feel safe, with gay guys because they know that they won't be hitting on them. This probably allows the women to relax and be themselves.
