Higher Protein Dog Foods?

Some believe that higher protein dog foods cause hyperness... does anyone have a link that discusses this? Like an article written by a vet or a nutritionalist... not a message board.

Thanks!

I think that this mis-conception came about because if you feed a high-protein diet, your dog will have more energy. I feed the ultimate high protein diet, RAW, and boy does my Corgi have more energy to burn. She's more healthy and living each day to the fullest!

HIgher protien give a animal (dog, human, etc) more usable "fuel." Personally, I think that the description of a hyper animal just means that the human in the relationship is not matching the energy level of the animal.

There is probably a link that you can google, but check out Kymythy Schultze's book called Natural Nurtition for Dogs and Cats to learn more about how to feed this diet and why its best. It's a very quick easy read about raw diets for pets.

I have never heard this but if I do I will come back with it. The only thing a high protein dog food does is build strong muscle and help the dogs digest food.

Right at the bottom of this link you'll find a paragraph on it:
