Is this Possible?

I am 7 weeks pregnant, and was in a rush the other day, buying make up. I grabbed the cheapest brand and went home. Can it be so cheap that its making me sick? Now I know all about morning sickness because this is my second child. But with this one, I get physically sick, but never throw up. It lasts all day. When I look at the make up, I just get this "Blegh" feeling, and I don't want to wear it. What could be happening??

LOL... I kinda feel you on this one. I guess it could be possible it is the make up, BUT I had the same thing happen to me. My boyfriend tried feeding me some peanut butter ice cream and I had it in my mouth but couldn't swallow. I felt so so sick. Just the thought of it made me fell horrible, but on top of it it was in my mouth. I would normally not have a problem with it. I think it is a mental thing, but it isn't going to get any better anytime soon lol. So I just suggest you buy new make up. If it truly is the make up and not mental you should change it anyways! Good luck and congratz!

You're more likely to have nausea or vomiting during your pregnancy if any of the following apply:

    • You're pregnant with twins or higher multiples. This may be from the higher levels of hCG, estrogen, or other hormones in your system. You're also more likely to have a more severe case than average. On the other hand, it's not a definite thing — some women carrying twins have little or no nausea.

    • You have a history of nausea or vomiting as a side effect of taking birth control pills. This is probably related to your body's response to estrogen.

    • You have a genetic predisposition to nausea during pregnancy. If your mother or sisters had severe morning sickness, there's a higher chance you will, too.

    • You're carrying a girl. One study found that women with severe nausea and vomiting were 50 percent more likely to be carrying a girl.

Also a well unknown fact is an increase in sensitivity to odors, which overstimulates normal nausea triggers instant nausea. You could possibly have a heighten sense of the smell of the cheaper brand of makeup. Cheaper brands often use high levels of scent treatments to make up for lack of quality but you could easily get the same reaction from any quality brand just because of a heighten sensitivity to odors.

I think it's one of those unexplainable hormonal things. Maybe there's a smell to it, (even one you aren't really aware of), that's triggering your sickness.

When I was pregnant with my 1st son, I would be gone to work all day, and my husband would sneak and eat at this pizza place. Even though he ate hours before I got home, brushed his teeth several times, and even used mouthwash, I could tell he'd eaten there and would be sick all night!

No matter what it is, I feel really awful for you! Throw that mess in the garbage quick!

I was that way with my second. I felt like I would feel better if I could throw up.

As to the makeup, perhaps, it's the memory of the smell that is giving you the 'blegh' feeling.

    Good luck!

Every pregnancy is different. Even if you get another brand, it could just be you. Seven weeks is probably when you get extra sensitive to things. I couldn't eat McDonald's food when I was pregnant with my 3rd child and still get sick from it, 2 yrs later. Everyone is different with each pregnancy.

That's how I was for the first 5 months of my pregnancy. It could just be the smell of the make up. If the make up was making you sick, you would get a rash or red spots where you apply the make up, it just wouldn't make you physically ill.

Just sounds like morning sickness to me. MAybe the smell of the makeup is making it worse, as you know certain foods, smells etc can trigger morning sickness.

Trust your instincts and throw it out. Buy another brand or buy unscented makeup. I had the same problem many years ago, and I still can't stand the smell of that particular brand of makeup.
