What does this phrase mean?

"Are you fish or cheese?" Can you tell me what it means? I read it in a book, I think it's vaguely perverted. Something about what you taste like?

I agree with gr8 f8's answer...However it could also be a kind of are you a leader or a follower type question.

Cheese is sometimes used as bait for fish. Are you a fish (a leader) or are you cheese (a follower)?

I HIGHLY doubt it has anything to do with smell...Although I may add that no matter what kind of cheese it is I would rather smell like it than fish...;)
