Wirless problems with actiontec GT704-WG wireless modem.?

Question

As soon as i turn my modem on, i can go to my laptop and connect to my wireless modem.  surfing the net is no problem.  So i leave for a little while, and come back and my laptop still says it is connected, but i can't surf the web.  so i disconnect, and try to reconnect, and i get the message "unable to connect".  I try everything...i restart my wireless card, i restart my laptop, but the only thing that will make it work again is to go and restart the actiontec modem...

This exact thing happens many times a day.  and it isn't the laptop, because my brother has the same problem with his laptop...also, we have two actiontec modems, same model.  i swapped the modems, re-installed the broadband software, and it still happens...what is going on?

Sounds to me like a problem with the modems themselves, especially if you have to restart the modem in order to reconnect. Personally, I would contact Actiontec. In the meantime, when you lose your connection, (and if you are running XP as opposed to Vista), try this as a temporary fix:

Start-->Run

type services.msc and hit Enter

in the window that appears, scroll down to the very bottom, and look for something called Wireless Zero Configuration. Right-click on this item, and select Restart. Try your connection after doing this. If this works, you may want to disable the service completely, and use the configuration utility that came with your laptop to handle all of your wireless configurations.

There could be small hollow on the returned of the router to reset it to the default. Unplug the router till now depressing the button interior that hollow. carry it down for type of one minute.
