Cat hair everywhere....help!!!!?

We have four adult cats and the only one who is shedding thier winter coat is our male cat. Unfortunately he is almost completely white. Our roommate's allergies are flaring up real bad and we just can't figure out how to get rid of all the dang cat hair. Any solutions?

Well vacuuming would help, Also I bought this Rubber brush for about $2.00=$3.00 for pet Hair at Ace Hardware. It really picks up the hair great. also rub some olive oil on your hands then through his coat, this will keep it from flying around. I did this ONCE to my cat when I had a guest and He never got sick and the hair stayed in one place.. ...Keep up on the brushing and the vacuuming it helps your room-mate and your cat.

    good luck

I had the same problem when my Siberian Husky was here and my himalayan cat. I had hair everywhere!!! I bought a shop vac and that helped a lot. I just vacuumed about every other day. I finally invested in an Orek vacuum. The upright one, it's very pricey, over $500 but worth every single penny!!! It gets so close to the floor and sucks that hair right out of the carpet. I have other critters that shed long and short hair and the Orek is the best! If you don't have the $500 to spend up front, you can make monthly payments of about $36. It's so well worth the money!!!! Your hair issue will go down atleast 75 to 80% after using the Orek on a regular basis. You should use it to pick the hair up about every 3 or 4 days. You will also get the free gift of the carry around vacuum, it's great too. Works good for small areas and furniture! Good luck!

I have 3 cats and also had the same problem, tumbleweeds of hair would appear and roll around the floor. Since I am very busy I also had difficulty keeping up with the vacuuming. I looked into a product called the Roomba (a robotic vacuum cleaner), and found that they have one for pets. Since its robotic I don't have to do the vacuuming, basically I clear the floor of any cat toys and let it work. So far, no more cat hair tumbleweeds. It may not resolve all the allergy problems, no matter how much you vacuum and brush it will not do much since dander is the culprit and that gets in everything a cat touches. Your roommate either needs to get some allergy medicine, shots or needs to move out. Good luck.

Brush the cats, especially the white male one, frequently. At least once a day. Vacuum frequently as well. A lint roller is also effective in removing cat hair.

An air filter might help. This has the added benefit of removing other allergens as well.

Over the counter allergy medication is another answer to the allergy problem, though this will do nothing to remove the hair and dander that it causing the problems.

Well, as usual, Lets disagree with Samantha :D. Cats' hair don't void Wudoo nor prayer.. Abu Harayra "Translation of his name: Kittens' owner\ or father of the Kitten" prayed while kittens were playing inside the wide sleeves of his dress...

brush your cats daily to get all the dead fur out . and possibly if you can afford an air purifier they help with the allergies.

Get a new roommate. They knew you had cats before they moved in.
