China Eastern Airline's baggage policy experience ... Anyone?

I've a flight on China Eastern from Shanghai to Delhi in economy. For cabin bag weight/peice limit, I did some searching around, and found from http://www2.flychinaeastern.us/ctva781/tripPrepara... the following: "Economy Class - 7kg (15 lbs)"

Now my question is to those who had flying experience on this airline:

Are they too strict on baggage? I've one roller bag with my laptop, that should fit under 7 kgs. But I've another cabin bag for both my SLR camera and lens, and a camcorder.

These items cannot be kept in my checked bag due to obvious safety issue. Also their website doesn't says if they allow other bags like camera bags, etc.

When I called their office in US, the agent was very impatient to hangup on me & barely told that the cabin weight limit is only 4.9 kgs. So I'm confused.

Do you think I'll be able to carry my rolling laptop bag and another camera bag (as described above) without being forced to either check in one of the item or pay excess baggage?

Update:

Just wanted to add that the checked baggage limit is 20 kgs and their website says that they do not have any limit on no of checked bags!

You should be fine. I haven't taken any plane from China Eastern Airline for a long time, I took Southern from Guangzhou to Shanghai last Thanksgiving.

They are not strict on the cabin bag's weight, and usually camera bag is counted similar to ladys hand bag - especially if the bag can fit under the seat. They are more strict to the side of the bag since they afraid the bag won't fit to the overhead lugguage holder.

Normally, Chinese likes to bring many bags and things to their friends and family. The overhead lugguage space runs out really fast. It is better to get onto the plane earlier to get space for yourself before others if they don't like they to be checked.

Shanghai is just a famous global area drawing more and more interest from throughout the earth; so see what that city has to offer with hotelbye . Shanghai is a well known journey location for visitors. In Shanghai you will see the wonderful Yu Garden (Yù Yuán), also referred to as the Garden of Happiness. That Garden addresses a location in excess of 20,000 square meters and includes an external and an internal garden. The oldest area may be the Outer Garden with further changes being produced in the 18th century when Sansui Tang, the park's principal corridor, was added. The newer and significantly smaller Inner Garden days from 1709 and includes characteristics normal of a classical Chinese writer's Garden: desirable small pavilions, decorative stones, and miniature pile stages, separating walls and small ponds, and a good highly designed theatrical stage.

China jap Airline is an incredibly secure airline, that's in basic terms their in flight service isn't as solid as different 5 action picture star airlines so as which you will become bored for the time of a 14 hour flight. you are able to hold your very own track, dvd, books, snacks to make your flight friendly.

I have traveled a lot on China airlines and I have never had my carry-ons weighed, so you should be OK, I am surprised at the low international weight limit, I thought inside of China you get at least 20kg, so, I am surprised to see their international limits are extreme low
