Rough feet?

I am the type of person who does not like to wear shoes. If I have to I usually wear flip flops. So I have thick, dry, cracked callous on my feet. I need some advice on how to get rid of the callous without having to wear shoes all the time. Any suggestions?

If you don't want to get a pedicure use epsom salt in a foot basin with a little bit of olive oil soak for about 30min. ~ While they are soaking scrub them with a pumice stone , pat dry & lotion with something made for dry skin . Eucerin works really well ! Good luck !

I also go barefoot, but I never wear even flipflops. My feet are tough but not rough at all, very occasionally I get a minor rough edge on the heel I smooth with a foot file but I think I've only needed that a few times in the ten years of barefooting. I never use creams or moisturizers or anything. Maybe it's because I go barefoot literally *all* the time on rough surfaces and asphalt too, that it wears down naturally before it gets so rough it forms cracks. So try walking barefoot even more if you can, it may do the job. :-)

Or it could be a matter of skin type (although I do have very dry skin on the rest of my body, strangely enough!), because a few other full-time barefooters I know through the various mailing lists and forums have cracks too, especially in winter. They seem to like best to sand the roughest callouses down with a foot file and then use bag balm or coconut oil.

Buy a Dr. Scholl's Swedish file, works much better than a pumice stone. Use it at the end of your shower a few times a week, and always mositurize with a thick cream after showering.

I always wear flip flops and this works wonders for my feet!

I suggest going and get a good foot pedicaure and have them buzz off all the dry skin first off your heels and to keep them in shape every night before you go to bed slather them with vaseline and put socks on your feet. They will soften up real nice. During the day I use Goldbond foot cream. It is soothing and softens the dry skin and hard skin on your heels.

shoes would help, but you can try soaking them in somekind of skin softener, and once youve soaked your feet until the calluses are soft enough get a npumice stick and gently rub it over the callouses, you will see the dead skin slough off.,do this on a daily basis until you see the difference in the way your feet look, but as much as you hate shoes wear them!
