This is based on no money, no help and has to be fully by ones owns effort. It is the Ultimate Survival question and the answer must be provable and not theory. Sorry, but lets get real. One day it might happen to you! Good luck!

A moderately sized island in the Caribbean, or a plateau in the Southwest. You're neglecting several important factors, however, such as where would one be starting from, what skills do they have and what kind of territory will they be traveling thorough, if at all. You also neglect resources. Will there be access to trees and stones on the way to get there? What is the soil like? Will you need to defend your territory, or is it a friendly area? There are way too many variables, but the island or plateau are the most realistic, and self sustaining.

    Planet Earth.

(really! - money is a relatively new invention and we are stuck in the illusion that it is necessary - it is if we want it to be but it isn't if we can stop damaging the planet because everything we need to survive is out there free for the taking, if we could only manage it a little better and not take more than we need)

If I can live in the hills of Kentucky with only a creek and the hills, I'll make it. Come over and I'll show you how to be Eagle scout.
