Roger Clemens?
Are your feelings hurt by what he has decided to do? Mine are.
I disagree. As a fan, I am offended and disappointed. And my feelings are hurt. I think being loyal to a team is a very admirable thing.

He comes back with so much flash using the 7th inning stretch to make his announcement. He acts as if his comeback will give the Yankees a chance to win every game. He will only pitch in every other 5 games and the game that he does pitch in is not an automatic win.
What has the Yankees done since his announcement? They are now 11 games behind in the AL east.

Why would your feelings be hurt? He got offered 20 million dollars for a part time job. If you were in his situation, wouldn't you do the same? If he cared at all what other people thought of him, Clemens would never have left Boston. At the very least, he would have stayed away from New York, which is their main rival. He doesn't care about fans, he wants his money. And that's his prerogative.

You can't expect him to be loyal to the Astros. Its not like he has been loyal to any team he has ever been on. That's just the nature of the game, you can't blame the guy for taking the biggest contract in baseball.

Roger Clemens is such a jerk he is totally incapable of hurting my feelings. I have such little respect for him as a professional athlete and as a person, that he isn't even a blip on my radar screen.

Mine aren't! We're talking about a man who says "I wanna finish my career in my hometown." meaning the Houston area, but he was born and raised the biggest part of his childhood in Dayton, Ohio! He also threw at his son in a intersquad game! HE's lucky he's back in the American League and that he's protected by the DH, or pitchers on teams he headhunted on will continue to try to stick one in his ear.

I am happy that a cy young pitcher like Clemens isn't playing for a team that really has no offense.

It's sort of selfish that he only plays part of a season and won't stay around when he's not pitching. But it's his teammates that should be offended, not us as fans.

He gets off every time Matlock is on TV and don't go on road games. Can you imagine this crap happening when Don Drysdale was pitching?
