I would go to the U.S. department of agriculture to get info. farming is great and i love it but it is really difficult to just start out farming on your own these days. the price of crops is about the same as it was in the late 70's and the cost of machinery and land has quadrupled. it is difficult to buy land and equipment and make ends meet. i love farming. my maternal grandfather farmed, i grew up on a farm and my father still farms today. i would probably be farming also if it was not so difficult to do it today. I am not trying to discourage you, just letting you know what you are up against and good luck!

I had always been involved with agriculture. I have been to a dozen countries (U.S.Army) looking around before I went back to get my BS in Agriculture. When you get to the point, you will know, as I did. I got hooked on hydroponic production. I took it a step further and found an organic hydroponic system for plants and one for fishes that worked together. Just go everywhere, see how everyone does it and do as much as you can. You may end up in a vineyard in Australia or rebuilding an African community, or Landscaping Pop Art.
