What does your dog hate most about going to the vet?

My dog doesn't flinch at shots or any of the things I would have assumed would bother her. She hates the stethoscope. My vet says he's been bitten over stethoscopes more than anything else. I'm just curious if there's one thing in particular your dog (or cat) hates about going to the vet.

Update:

Freedom...I'm not sure what the laws are where you live, but rabies vaccinations every year are the law here. I'm glad your dogs are healthy though. So are mine.

Update 2:

That's your prerogative. I've had two rabid skunks come up close to the house in the last year and I can remember from childhood what happened to dogs who got rabies or distemper. I feel safer keeping my dogs vaccinated.

Update 3:

I'm not trying to brush off your opinion. I have a friend who feels just like you do and I'm aware of the controversy surrounding vaccines. Maybe the laws will change and maybe they won't. Because my dogs come in contact with wild animals quite a bit being out on a farm, I feel safer knowing they're vaccinated. I'm just trying to do the best I can for my dogs, the same as you.

What my two Boxer pups hate most about the vet is having to stand still on the examination table! If they had it their way, the poor vet would be covered in slobber, on the floor.

The two other dogs we have are a different story. Our Springer Spaniel hates being around the other dogs in the waiting room (luckily he doesn't have to go often). Then our other Boxer dislikes both the car ride and the exam table (poor old guy feels unbalanced on it).

Stethoscopes, shots, X-rays, tests . . .none of it fazes them.

We keep our dogs on a raw diet and limited vaccines (NONE beyond puppyhood and no more then ONE parvo and ONE distemper, NO multi shots) and no monthly chemicals and they never need to see a vet. In my past experience the more you see a vet, the more you neeeed to see a vet. :)

I am not suggesting that people do not seek a vet when their dogs are sick but I do not suggest going so often that you can find things your dog hates about it. :)

I know what the laws are on rabies vaccines. I also know it's a crock of you know what and a very dangerous vaccine.

In case you want to brush this off as some kind of internet medicine you should know that Dr. Jean Dodds and Dr. Shultz are leading experts in the field and are the sole reason that vaccine protocols changed all over America. Their work is honorable and with any hope and people's help they will get the Rabies vaccine laws changed too. Mandatory Vaccines are crime by deception as science proves they are not needed, of NO benefit and harmful to dogs.

I understand that. We are surrounded by wild life too but at the same time there has been zero reported cases of rabies in my county in all of history. Not one. But yet thousands of dogs are forced to recieve this damaging vaccine over and over again.

We all do what we feel is best. I follow the law.... somewhat... :) I protect my dogs 100%

style of seems such as you desire a clean vet. guy-handling could artwork on the ranch once you're attempting to go a obdurate cow, yet its now the way you look after a scared dogs. hit upon a clean vet who agrees to artwork throughout the time of the difficulty with you. maximum vets are keen to have you ever are available in on random visits, walk the waiting room, make a journey to the dimensions, etc. deliver him via some cases and take it slow. Feed a lot of candies and supply a lot of compliment. working with a professional coach could additionally be particularly helpful. sturdy success!

She starts to tremble and the only thing that calms her is having a toy in her mouth. She is 70 pounds. ....Getting out of the car, right away she smells something wrong is going to happen.

Mine worries because the last time we took her and her sister there, her sister didn't come home again. So the worst part is trying to get her out of the car when we get there.
