    To ginger and to other who has the same answer as she does.

    I'm not a memeber of this group (JW's) but I want to make a statement about this issue.

    In 1Co6:10-11 Saint Paul was talking to the early Christian, can you see on that verse that he only mention some wrong doing and telling them that some of them are like that before, right. As a Christian we must be clean in the eyes of the Lord, so to avoid committing sin we must avoid where a sin starts, when we drink liquor there is possibility that we will be got drunk in became drunkards, so to avoid being drunkards we should get away from drinking liquor, right, read this verses

    Eph 5:18 And be not drunken with wine, wherein is riot, but be filled with the Spirit;

    1Th 5:22 abstain from every form of evil.

    So there is a form already or appearance of evil in drinking liquor, you might be drunk, so avoid it, as it is written in 1Th5:22.

    1Ti 3:8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

    In this verse it is said WINE , there are two kinds of wine in the bible, one is the new and old,

    Luk 5:37 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.

    Luk 5:38 But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.

    Luk 5:39 No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.

    So God allow the early Christian to drink wine the new one which you will not be intoxicated or got drunk, unlike the alcohol you talking about.

    Luke 1:15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

    See that in Luke 1:15, WINE or STRONG DRINK.

    So used common sense or logic: What will God let his people drink or used as symbol of prosperity and security. the new wine or the old wine that can make you drunk in can cause trouble.

    In the bible it is not specific whether it is a new wine or old wine, however you your self know what kind of wine was used in the verses.

    Jehovah's Witnesses do not insist on drinking liquor, and in fact tend to avoid doing so when it is illegal or likely to offend the surrounding community. As a Christian minister, a typical Witness is happy to live a lifestyle that honors God and Christ while leaving open the best possibility for also helping his neighbors to learn "the good news".

    (1 Corinthians 9:19-23) Do all things for the sake of the good news

    (1 Corinthians 9:19-23) I have become all things to people of all sorts, that I might by all means save some. But I do all things for the sake of the good news, that I may become a sharer of it with others.

    Of course, the bible does not actually prohibit Christians from consuming alcohol in moderation.

    (1 Timothy 5:23) Use a little wine for the sake of your stomach

    (1 Timothy 3:8) Ministerial servants should likewise be serious, not double-tongued, not giving themselves to A LOT of wine [caps added]

    I see from your questions that you have issues with Jehovahs Witnesses. But to answer your question-Jesus first miracle was to turn water in Wine. It was at a wedding party and the wine had run low-which indicates that people had already been drinking.

    The bible says to not get DRUNK with wine.

    Its ok to drink...just not to get drunk. There is nothing wrong with having a drink or 2 with dinner or in a social gathering..but one wouldnt want to get drunk.

    Source(s): The bible..and a little common sense

Wine or beer makes me mellow, whiskey makes me a beligerant a$s, rum is someplace inbetween, and vodka is a entire crapshoot. I do have faith that in case you drink an identical component many times you could administration it greater advantageous and your physique adapts to it greater. What does a inebriated comprehend besides.

    Doing anything in excess and with no self control is discouraged in the bible. Therefore Not Alcohol but Drunkeness!

    What??? Not sure why you chose to single out that group but if you will recall Jesus' first recorded miracle was turning water into wine.

    As for those who choose to drink wine currently, I personally don't because alcohol doesn't agree with me.

    Where does it state that liquor is prohibited in the Bible? It does not say that. It just says that you are not suppose to get drunk!!!! Most of us don't understand the bible, therefore its easy to misinterpret God's laws.

    Jesus said not to get drunk and be foolish. I choose not to drink because I know I would be foolish and sin.

    Liquor is not prohibited in the bible, but excess of it

    Jehovah Witnesses are a cult ! just like Mormons, Seventh Day Adventist, and more . Any church that needs to go door-to-door to "Recruit" new members is a crock of s hi t ! in fact most organized religion is just that. a crock of s h i t
