My family was there between Christmas and New Years Day last year and although weather was mild (not hot and humid), the airfare was really expensive at $350 round trip per person from NYC to Orlando. We are going back in August and I suspect the weather will be miserable but we got flight at $142 per person from NYC to Tampa. Why Tampa? Flight was about $100 cheaper and car rental was cheaper too. I am willing to drive 90 miles to save $700 for the family of four!
Disney tickets seemed to be same price regardless of time of the year. Also, if you are staying at one of Disney resorts, I would buy from one of large travel agencies. I was get cheaper rate from my agent than Disney quoted rate and saved about $100 for my stay.

Tickets to Disney World and the prices inside the parks don't change with the seasons. It's the airline prices, rental cars, etc., that will change at Christmas. A week or two before Christmas is usually less crowded at Disney. Christmas week is miserable.

it is way more expensive, because the airports and disney know that people need to travel for the holidays, and disney is always crowded aroud then, so they know that if people really want a park ticket, they will pay anything for it. Same goes with the airport, because they know that people will pay anything to go see family, vaction, etc. they also raise prices everywhere because of all of the people, so they know if they have a product, and they raised the price on it, and you refuse it, the next person in line will take it. hope this helped!!

i believe more people go on holiday at winter than at summer.
as someone else said, flights may be cheaper, but i highly doubt disneyworld would be as its a holiday season for them, and many people go away at this time as families as christmas is a family holiday.
