I'm sure you already know this but that goal is both unrealistic and dangerous.
If you were to find some miracle diet that would allow you to lose 20 pounds in a month, chances are you'd be hard pressed to keep the weight off.
Your goal should be more realistic, look at losing about 10 pounds in one month and keep up the work after the month is up.
Living a healthy life is really the only way to effective lose weight and keep it off.
I do 30-45 minutes of brisk walking on a daily basis in addition to packing my daily meals with healthy foods....Having a balanced life is essential! Good luck!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

You can do it with a lot of exercise, and about 1200 calories a day. Make sure you eat enough protein, or you will lose too much muscle, and not as much fat. try just replacing breakfast and lunch with protein shakes, or slim fast shakes, then eat a balanced small meal for dinner. In order to lose 5 pounds in a week you will have to run about 10 miles a day, or the equivalent with other exercise.

run 4 miles about 5 days a week & eat a lot of fruit/grains/veggies/eggs/lean protein (chicken)/yogurt...dont eat packaged food it usually has unhealthy preservatives...losing weight this way is much healthier and you'll keep the weight off longer instead of gaining it back when you stop eating just cabbage for ever meal!
and like you asked for "cheap", most of those items are relatively inexpensive, especially if you buy them in bulk.....and the only other thing you need is a good pair of sneakers & and the outdoors!

It is not very healthy to loose that much in that period of time...But for a quicker diet, everyone says the "Fat Flush" diet is great...It sounds disgusting to me, cranberry juice and stuff, but everyone says it does the trick, and naturally too. You would probably be able to lose 10 pounds or so.
Check on ebay for a cheaper price of the book.

www.sparkpeople.com I lost 7 pounds the first week. The key is finding healthy alternates to what you enjoy eating right now. The combination of a low-calorie diet and exercise will work.

There are not cheap and easy diets! Crash dieting is dangerous. but you can lose some weight pretty easily if you exercise alot and eat alot of pure cooked vegetables with no butter or oils and protein with no oils and butter. You have to eat to keep your metabolism going and not starve yourself. Exercise and drink plenty of water to help the cravings and eat the right foods and you will lose some weight........ please be safe...... and do it right. Lisa A.

High Fiber, High Protein, Low Calories, etc. Stay away from anything Partially Hydrogenated and High Fructose Corn Syrup. You may not lose the 20 lbs, but if you eat right and exercise your goal won't be too far away.

Don't try to lose 20 pounds in 4 weeks.
There's no way that's healthy.
