A question about the season finale of NBC's Heros?
Do you think Peter Pettrelli died?
I think he did because he can't use 2 of his abilities at once.

I don't think so. Keep in mind that he didn't explode, not really. Like Ted, he put off waves of radiation and there was a power discharge, but he didn't blow up or anything. He's immune to that power, like Ted was immune to his radiation, or Meredith to her fire. The blast moved out from him but wouldn't have torn him apart. The biggest danger to him would actually be the fall from that distance. However, he could have flown away, he could have used his TK to cushion the fall, or he could have splatted and potentially regenerated.
It's also possible that Nathan survived. If he took Peter several miles up, then dropped him and took off in another direction before the blast, then he could be okay. And since Sylar was able to crawl off into the sewers (potentially stopping the bleeding using TK and cauterizing his wound with Ted's power, since he's proven able to use multiple powers at once) then it's very possible that nobody died last night. Except Linderman, who died last week so he doesn't count.

Of course, Peter is alive. How could HEROES go on with out him. Like all season finales, they make it seem like something shocking has just happened but when you finally see the next episode, they show how they escaped the inevitable without any big deal. Like a few episodes ago with cliffhanger ending when Peter was about to blow up in front of the building when he came near the other exploding man, Ted, for the first time. The show ended like he was going to blow up, but on the next episode he just controlled it with no problem. (They didnt even kill DL, what makes you think Peter is going to die?)
If Peter or his brother really died, trust me they would have showed it and not cut away with some explosion in the sky.
And you really can't base Peter staying alive from the fact that you saw him in the "Five Years Later" episode because they've changed the future once they "killed" Sylar.
One thing I like about Heroes is that no one is a MAIN character. All the Heroes are likable and interesting in their own right but Peter has too much to offer. He has the best power of all of them combined because he can do everything everyone else can. The speech the dying man (Peter's patient who knew all along about the explosion and his power) gave to Peter on the season finale should have been a big clue that he wasn't going anywhere as well. Nor is his brother for that matter.

No.
Mrs Petrelli herself stated that "Peter will be fine, he can heal himself".
Therefore, he IS alive. Molly can find him if need be.
And, he CAN use more than one power at once, he just couldn't use two powers at that time because he was using all his effort and strength to control the explosion.
Edit: The future has changed. The "Five Years Later" episode is no longer accurate since Hiro changed the past. Ando survived and is back in Japan. Peter DID explode but millions of people are ALIVE, therefore no memorial in the future.

How do we know he can't use 2 abilities at once? Just because he hasn't tried? Well, he hadn't tried a lot of things when this show first started. Guess we'll find out next fall.

I think both of them may be OK, Peter can use two abilities at once (he used one while invisible) but I think his brother dropped him when it was safe so they could both be safe. Peter doesn't need to be conscious to heal, his ability mimics Claire's in that it is inate and self actuating. I thought it strange they didn't even hint at what became of them.

I think he lives because in the future episode he was alive and he was responsible for the explosiion. Also, maybe when he uses the nuclear power to explode, his own body is safe in the center of the explosion.
