Who will be heading to a veterans/military cemetery on Monday?

Our family will be off to Maddingly Cemetery outside of Cambridge, UK, for a Memorial Day service. Hubby will be helping a widow lay a wreath in honor of her late husbands WWII unit.

Please don't forget to honor those who have fallen to protect your freedom!

Grandfathers - WWII Army and Army Air Corp

Father, brother, & Uncle - USAF retired

Cousin - Army vet, Desert Storm

Husband - 21 years of Active Duty AF, serving proud and strong!

Me - proud as can be of each and every one of them, typing with tears in my eyes!

I will be putting flags on several veterans' graves Monday after I get back from standing my post at the Veterans' Memorial here in Virginia Beach.

Tomorrow, I'm attending the funeral of a fallen soldier who died May 17 when his mounted patrol came in contact with enemy forces using small arms fire and IED's. His name is CORPORAL AARON D. GAUTIER. His memorial service will be held on Ft. Monroe, Virginia and he will be buried in the Hampton Veterans' Cemetery. I am honored to be asked to participate with my other Patriot Guard Rider brothers and sisters to stand for this soldier that stood for others in the fight for freedom.

I am an in-country Viet Nam vet, my father lost an arm in Germany(after LEGALLY emmigrating from Finland with his parents, brothers and sister); my 2 uncles lost their lives fighting for the freedom of South Korea (one KIA, one MIA).

All 3 of my mother's brothers were Korea area vets. My step dad also served in Korea.

Fly your flags half staff Monday sunup to sundown.

I have never done anything in the past. But since I recently found out that My Great-Great GrandFather fought in WW1 and my Great-GrandFather faught in WW2. I'll be visiting their grave sites and hopefully do other things to honor veterans and them aswell.

I plan on doing this every year. Hopefully in the future when I do, i'll be wearing a uniform as they did.

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend this year due to health problems. My shipmates will be laying a wreath on the graves of the four crewmen who died while attempting to reach the crew of the Francis B off Sitka. God Bless them all.
