Overdue with cramping?

I am 3 days overdue and have been having a lot of cramping. I do not think it is contractions but I do not know. If I am sitting down they are not as strong and fell just like menstrual cramps but I have noticed if I am sleeping on one side and turn over or laying down and get up I get horrible cramps/contractions that are really strong, I even have to breathe through them. Are these pre-labor contractions maybe or just BH's? I have been having them for the past couple of days. I have been having bloody show for the past couple of days also. I am 2 cm, 70% effaced, baby is engaged. Any help would be great! Thanks

Update:

They are not regular that is why I have not called the midwife yet. Definatley not timeable.

I know that this may sound kind of wierd but have sex. It is a scientific fact that the semen of a man contains a special hormone or varient, if you will, that softens up the cervix and makes it easier to dialate.

My suggestion is to monitor your pains. Time how long they last and how often you feel it. If they start to be 5 minutes apart or less, go to the hospital.

You are 3 days overdue. Why havent they enduced your labor?

At three days overdue and symptoms like you have been having you need to be on the phone with either your OB, her nurse, the doctor practitioner or the OB on duty.

Any pain that is constant and with dilation, you are likely in labor. It is better to be safe than sorry. Please get checked out.

Best of luck! Let us know how it turns out.

My contractions started out like bad menstrual cramps, just like you are experiencing. They got progressively stronger and more frequent. Almost 29 hours later, my son was born.

Sounds like you may be meeting your baby very soon!

    Good luck!

Its they're irregular or the go away when you switch positions then your probably feeling false labor. But when in doubt, go to the hospital. It better to be safe than sorry after all. Congratulations and good luck.

I might now not move to the health center now, however I skilled "menstrual-like" cramps for twenty-four hours earlier than my water broke (in advance, in my case.) I do not consider it might harm to name and inform them, however in my case they instructed me to attend till I had a few sort of "discharge" - which I did, while my water broke.

you need to go to the doctor. no one on here can give you any advice about this because we cannot examine you or hook you up to any equipment to check for contractions. get to your doc now!

Get some rest, you are gonna need it, good luck, and drink plenty of fluid, if you get dehydrated your uterus gets irritated and can cause cramping.
