Don't spend money on expensive performance parts that will add almost no mpg to your vehicle. Instead, Imagine a pill you drop into your gas tank that can save you a minimum of 7 - 14% on every tank. If using you truck is becoming a problem due to rediculous gas prices then you will want to check this product out. This pill not only saves you big bux at the pump but also improves engine performance, and saves the environment by lowering smog and emmisions. There are over 3 news stations that have tried it out and reported it and they claim it works like a charm.
I'm testing it out right now on my 03 4runner. I normally get 17-18 mpg on average, so we'll see what happens after 2 full tanks of gas. The company sais that you will start to see a major difference in gas mileage after about 2 full tanks of gas, because it conditions your engine on the first tank of gas, so you will not see a major difference until 2 tanks. It is not a fuel cleaner or additive. The fuel only acts as a carrior to the combustion chamber were it is then made into a microthin catalyst layer. Their website has all of the info.
For all of you who think this is just a bunch of garbage, it's ok, because that is what I first thought of it when I heard about it, but after seeing the facts on the website and from others who always use it, I am convinced. The product is also registered with the EPA, reg. #201220 001. Note that the EPA does not aprove of anything, they just make sure that it does not cause harm to the environment or the vehicle itself similar to how the FDA makes sure there is no poison in our food. Oh and best of all they back their product up with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Didn't like the product, just send it back for a full refund. For more info, just visit the website below. You won't regret it.

Try different grades and brands of fuel. Sometimes running higher octage will get you better gas mileage to the point of more then making up the cost difference. Say regular is 3.20 a gallon and Plus is 3.30. Thats 3% more. Now say your gas mileage goes from 20 to 23 thats 13% more. I have seen this on many different cars to be the case. The other thing is tire pressure.Just a few pounds under inflated can cause you to loose 2-3 mpg. Try predicting traffic coast to red lights and accelerate smoothly. Pretend there is a raw egg under your gas and brake pedel. The smoother you drive the better the fuel economey.

its not that hard to do but its not free!
first go with a cold air intake
second, change the mass airflow sensor so it can take the added air flow.
third, high flow muffler will help, as would a high flow cat converter.
fourth, and cheapest change your thermostat to a low temp one like a 160 or 170 instead of the oem 180+.
there are a few other things you can do in some states nut not in all ! basicly think like this increased airflow = less unburnt gas thus more efficent engine, then think less restriction in the exhaust system = more mpg+ hp
all of this will add hp and mpg as a side effect
i will give you a tiny example i have a 95 z28 lt1 with the above done and a custom transmission as well i can get 41 mpg hwy and 32 city on super soon i will add the headers and go up 3 or so more mpg.

lmao did you have it lifted for bigger tires ? change to smaller ones and you could change gears on the rear end but your taking away from your 4x4 capabilities the same with changing with messing with the tranny gears also but it will help on top end or gas mileage what kind of driving do you do off road or city Driving or highway driving ? because you can go from a colder plug to a hot tier plug for city Driving and get better mileage and Performance, also look into changing timing around a bit i know that you can get better top end by manipulating the timing some . also see if you can put more air into your intake by running another fillter to your intake, dual air intake lines more air, if you can run them just below the bumper or right threw the buper as the air is better there

Basically keep the foot out the gas pedal.. make sure the maintaince is done on it (air and fuel filters if not done in last 30,000 miles)..
Fuel filter I find is most neglected but if clogged makes vehicle eat gas sometimes....
Also if in steep hilled area, stay off the cruise and use your foot... Found that if I'm driving in a steep hilly area , the cruise seems to force the engine to downshift to keep speed and will upshift at the other side of the hill.. area where I am .. truck does it a lot and noticed a slight improvement keeping it off in the hilly parts.

You're gonna think I'm full of it, but I truly beleive in the tornado fuel saver. I bought a knock off brand on ebay for $13 and put it in my escort. Now the car has an EPA hwy fuel economy of 33, after this mod and Zmax engine treatment and Bosch platinum 4 plugs, I've reached 41 hwy and NEVER got below 35. I'm as serious as ever here, it worked for me.

First off put in a quality fuel like Sunoco. Secondly keep out of the gas pedal and accelerate easily. If you cruise on the highway it is better to roll up the windows and use the AC. Check the air filter to see if it's dirty. Replace it with a new paper filter or upgrade to a K&N.

some valid answers I read, some just plain stupid (go figure toy owners)
tire pressure is #1, accel and decel is good also, SLOW DOWN
just 5mph at highway speeds could save 4-8% Tune-up? have you? fresh spark plugs will make a difference. good quality highflow air filter. not a K&N ( the oil used can contaminate the air flow sensor) another way is to purchase a performance chip from Superchips in Fla. added Hp. can increase fuel economy unless you have a lead foot.
good luck
