Advice from a poet of over fifty years standing:

1. Go to a place like Office Depot and get several professional appearing copies of your best work.

2. Select magazines and periodicals that have a similar theme to the type of poetry you write. i.e. Romantic, Tragic, Childrens, Humorous, etc. Submit one or two poems to the appropriate magazine.

3. Go to the library, or a good book store, Borders, Barnes & Noble, etc. and purchase a book that gives you guidelines for submitting your poetry.

4. There are several national outlets that will publish your poetry, and attempt to sell you a copy of the book. Be aware, these are generally rip-off artists, but, if you truly want to see your poetry in print, this is a way to do so.

5. Self Publish. Use the internet for more information. There are some excellent programs for publishing your own work.
