A Film About Soldier Ants?
I recall seeing this movie some time ago, I believe it was made sometime in the 60's or 70's. It might star Charlton Heston but I'm not sure about that, as I can't find anything in his filmography thst looks similar.
The movie is about a man who has a plantation in South America that is threatened by an army of soldier ants. At one point he floods ditches around the plantation to stop then, but the ants merely take leaves and use them as rafts to float across! I think that at the end he has to torch the plantation to stop them.

That's one of my favorites. It's entitled 'The Naked Jungle'. It was released in 1954 and stars Charleton Heston and Eleanor Parker.
