Movie 300 is a propoganda imed at Iran?

Now that USA has decided to denuke Iran, Movies like 300 are made byu a director with links to Israel. And mind it Israel is Iran's biggest enemy. Do you agree that portrayal of Xerces in this movie was wrong in gigantic ways and it was done to discredit an old civilization like Iran?

I am not from Iran, but just do not like this propoganda war.

Update:

I do not question the war. It happened and persians were decisively defeated. However, I am against the wrong portrayal of Xerces 1. He was not a berber or uncivilized as shown in this movie. He was also not employing rhinos, elephants or demons as shown here. He was an ambitious man who lost against a small army and suffered the ignomity. However, Losers are always humans and they deserve some respect. this hate campaisgn as statred by Isaraeli supporters soon after USA got control of Iraq will do no good to the world. World opinion will slowly go against the israel and USA.

I think hollywood is full of propaganda as a lot of people get most of there views and concepts from films also mainstream media and t.v i think people need to be aware of the possibility that we are all potential prey for false propaganda.I also think the media should be more responsible and held accountable as they clearly have a large effect on all our lives even if we can admit to that fact or not.We need to keep our eyes open and not allow people to freely peddle misconceptions for there own political gain.In fact this question has made me realise what a serious problem this is and people should really investigate this kind of thing god only knows how much damage has been done by the media stiring trouble and influencing kids to act a certain way or even society as a whole

that's a action picture in accordance with a comedian that existed long in the past all that, yet i chanced on it myself a wierd coinsidence that the action picture had to return out now. on the different hand the Spartans are infrequently to evaluate to people, actually they are style of the oppposite to people. that they had a very remoted,no longer imperialistic, communistic form of society. They grew to become militarists only because of the fact they have been continually frightened of a slave revolution interior, no longer because of the fact of imperialistic motives. in addition to interior the action picture it replaced into any different way around: the persians have been the large capability, like the U. S. is at present. The spartans interior the action picture have been protecting their land and honour, even yet it replaced into particular that they might die. If there is ever a wrestle between us and iran it's going to be the iranians who would be compelled to preserve their land. So i do no longer understand. according to hazard there is something to this theory, according to hazard that's a coinsidence.

You think that movie was propaganda? Obviously you have a very high opinion of the average American's intelligence.

Half of them don't even know that Persia is what Iran used to be.

It is called a movie because it is a work of FICTION based loosely on fact. Aside from the names of the players and the location of the battle the movie was all creative license based on a COMIC BOOK.

This is how it really happened...

Yes, it was propanganda. To make such a movie at a time like this is no coincidence. Contrary to other ignorant answers 300 is not history and does not even begin to portray the real Persians as they actually were. Persians were the most advanced civilization of their time, they were the most culturally developed in terms of art, literature, science and music. It is completely wrong to portray Persians/Iranians in these difficult times as monsters and villians, it is most certainly propaganda created to perpetuate prejiduce and hate towards Iran as if Americans needed more reasons to act like racist, ignorant pigs.

I completely disagree. How many people even know Persia was Iran? I bet a lot less than you'd imagine. This movie was made to generate money. Wasn't a lot of the movie (at least the crux of it) fact-based?

The movie is a recreation of an event that actually took place. How can the re-telling of a historical event be propaganda? How much of the movie was fiction? I know they took liberties with relationships in the movie, but the battle did take place.

Why do you want to re-write history? To be politically correct?

Who really lost the war? Xerxes did. Accept history. I never saw the movie, but I know the Persians lost the war, not only lost, they got their asses kicked by the Greeks. I wouldn't call it propaganda if they really lost.

If you don't like propaganda, then you should be scolding the Iranian government which plasters posters on every street saying, 'Death to America'. I call that propaganda. That is what you should be mad about.

300 is simply an exaggerated tale of a historical event that occurred thousands of years ago. I think you're "reading too far" into the movie.

It is not Propaganda. It is a movie about something that actually happened in History. How can something that happened in History be propaganda?

Iran doesn't like it because it shows Persians getting whooped.
