Why don't 98% of people simple Google their answers?

Question

I witness this time and time and time again - someone asks a question, could be any subject - example;

'Who is the lead singer of Radiohead?'

All they have to do is use their search engine of choice.  Countless subjects, countless easily researched answers - what is wrong with people?

There are questions that can be easily answered on the internet.  You gave a good example.  There are other questions that cannot be answered very easily on the internet.  Such as surveys.  Asking why people would vote for a certain candidate, etc.

I think it is because they like getting a variety of responses to their questions.  No two answers, are usually not alike. 

They like the fact, that can go to Yahoo.  

Besides, the fact that most of the people, on here are pretty nice.

Because using Google doesn't have a fancy-spancy reward system for asking questions or giving answers.

Also you don't get to see some of the amusing responses of people.

I agree. Google is no only a search engine but also serves as a great tool to do tech support, repair anything, troubleshoot anything, get advice.

maybe people just don;t realize these facts.
I can't live without google in my day to day IT tasks.

Probably because Googling doesn't involve interacting with someone else, and this method does.  Humans just have an inborn need to talk to communicate.

I have often wondered this myself! I don't know if they are lazy or if it never occurred to them. Seeing as how most of the searching takes less than a mintue to find and reply!
