3,000 US soldiers have been killed in Iraq in 5 years. LA County had 17,213 murders in 2005 alone. Iraq safer?

Update:

wouldnt you feel safer knowing your son/daughter was serving in Iraq than being in the US?

Update 2:

spareo1, the govts failures are your failures too. dont push this all on the president. when the govt fails its because the people failed. you are just as much responsible for the way the govt runs.

Update 3:

the fbi releases a uniform crime statistics report. its public information at fbi.gov. look it up. knowledge is contagious.

Your a total liar. The stat I read on fbi.gov said 423 murders and negligible manslaughter in 2005. Yeah knowledge is contagious maybe you should catch the bug sometime. Do you realize how ridiculous 17,213 murders in a city in one year is?

Its totally laughable that anyone would actually read that stat and not immediately know its false these people telling you, you have a good point are worse then you.

3,000 US soldiers. That's just US soldiers. That's not counting Iraqi Civilians. Iraqi civilians have suffered thousands dead within the past 5 years.

Look for yourself and ask again. LA County is much safer than Iraq.

Once again he got all you people to look, still nearly as many people in LA have been murdered as has been killed in the 5 years we have been at war. Imagine how our press core of this age would have reported the battle of Normandy. You know Hitler never attacked the US either and I think the people of France were innocent people.

There were 2,503 counts of murder/negligent manslaughter in 2005 in the state of California.

Don't post sources until you have actually read them yourself.

Now on your question, you say that 3000 (now it's 3450) have been killed in Iraq; however, you neglect to mention the thousands of Iraqi Security Forces who have been killed by insurgents and tens of thousands of Iraqi civilians who have died as a result of this war..

Your numbers can't be right. I live in Atlanta and we are in the top ten every year and it is never over a 1000 a year. Also how many civilians have died in Iraq. Its a loaded question!

Look I'm as far right as it gets on yahoo but if we are going to beat the Dem's and Libbie's we have to do it with the facts!

I checked that FBI link you gave. The whole state of Ca only had 2,503 Murders in 2005(http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/05cius/data/table_05.html). In Los Angles There were only 489 Murders.(http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/05cius/data/table_06.html#l...

There were 16,692 people murdered in the US in 2005.(http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/05cius/data/table_01.html) I'm on your side wth the war, but get your facts straight!

You mean to tell me LA has 47 murders every day? That is hard to believe. I guess the next question would be how many are gang bangers? The reason I ask is because in LA, you can tell who you want to be around and who you don't. In Iraq, you have no idea who the bad guy is.

there were 402 murders in Los Angeles County in 2006. Why do you inflate your numbers by 4200%? Try and at least be "in the ball park" when asking questions.

Both are due to failures of the Govt. Check to see how many 'murders' are due to illegals that the Govt now wants to make legal.

Harris County Texas would probably sport similar stats. throw in the traffic fatalities and you defiantly are safer in Iraq.
